Ready and Waiting
We are so excited about the adventure that lies ahead of us. After three years of praying and searching, God has shown us that it is time to move ahead. We announced this big change in April and immediately put our house up for sale. The timing seemed perfect for all the May-June showings that happen in our town. But now we are about to enter July and the house showings have waned.
We keep asking ourselves, “What is our part in this process?” and, “What more should we / can we do?” Recently our sending organization announced that there would be significant cut-backs in personnel (a drop in 700 by the end of the year). However, we have been assured that our selection was before the June 1 deadline and that we are still set for appointment in September.
As I write these words, I personally know of six families that are set for appointment, but have not sold their homes. All of us have done all that we know to do and we are just waiting on the right buyer. Prices have been drastically reduced. Open houses have come and gone. Prayers have been prayed. Yet we wait. We have been told that we cannot be appointed until our house situation is settled.
On July 8, our family will be brought before the board for a vote. We anticipate board approval. Would you please set aside some time that day to pray for our family and others that, though they receive approval and funding to move forward, may be delayed because of the housing market. Pray that God would show Himself to be mighty. We trust in Him no matter what He chooses to do.
When I saw this rainbow in our neighborhood this evening, it reminded again of God’s faithfulness to provide and His desire that all might be saved.
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;
But we will remember the name of the LORD our God.Psalm 20:7

My prayers are definitely with you and yours. God will provide when the time is right as His timing is perfect. Try not to fret.
Love in Christ
Marianne
How truly wonderful that you have embarked on this journey of faith. What an inspiration that your beautiful family has chosen to join you on the way. Great to see you at the S-B-C.
If I can help you, let me know. It is an inspiration to professors, when their students take seriously what was taught in class.
Remember that Abraham had to step out into the unknown trusting in the God who would show him what was to come next (Gen 12:1-3).
Please know I will pray for you.

It was good to see you last week in Louisville. Thank you for what you taught us in the class that I had with you. I remember that you taught us to make sure that we taught in reproduceable ways. You gave the example of choosing not to use an overhead projector when you went to teach in the villages, because projectors would not be available to those you were teaching and they would not be able to reproduce what you had done.
You and your family will be in our prayers as you embark on this journey of faith. Keep us posted as to how we can pray for you specifically. Of course, we will be praying for the sale of your house in Cameron.
Because of Him,
Mike Cooper
If I would have paid more attention when I read this post, I would have known you was going before the board on the 8th
I love the picture of the rainbow – a great reminder that God keeps his promises then and still keeps them today. We saw Matt recently overseas and he mentioned there were holds being placed on sending out additional families. I am glad that it does not sound like it is impacting you and your family. It was wonderful to see where he and his family have been working this past year and get a chance to more fully understand what happens in their day to day lives by being there in person. I will be praying for you on July 8th regarding the board approval process and also regarding the sale of your house here in the states.
Thank you, Kim. I will have to check with you and find out more about Matt’s status and location. It would be great to see him again.
We are set for our name to come before the board at 3pm EST today (July 8).
We were approved!!
