It’s Official

photoIt is official!! We have now completed the appointment process and will begin our training in about a month. Thank you for following us on this first leg of the journey.

There were so many emotions that went into this particular day. My family was here with us and they brought our kids with them on Monday helping with them while we were in meetings. We also had my grandfather, Bill Davis, with us. He has such a love for missions and works to start churches all over the world with our associates.

We also had Clayton and Darla from our home church in Cameron, MO to be here with us. Thank you for coming!

After we have our 87 word test-a-byte, we spread out in the congregation for people to gather around us and pray over us. Our family and friends were arranged near the spot where we were assigned for prayer. Also joining us there was our host church for the week, represented by their missions committee. They have committed to be one of our prayer support churches.  Thank you Westside Baptist for being there with us tonight.

Thank you FirstJax for your wonderful hospitality.

I so wish I could share pictures of the other 58 that were set apart tonight for service in the kingdom around the world, but so many are going to sensitive areas that I cannot. Several are going to our part of the world. One will be working with the deaf in another part of the world. Among those set apart, were business men and women, pastors, youth/college ministers, a widow, basketball coach, counselor, a retired policeman, nurses, and many others. God may be calling  you so that he can use your skills on the field.

    Guys,

Congratulations on your appointment! It was a wonderful service last night, being able to see all of the people that God has called. Just thought you might want to know that after you visited our class, my boys and I decided to take you on as our class missionaries and will work to minister to your son and daughter. (I wasn’t going to tell you until your appointment was official, ha ha). We would like for you to send us a list of your family’s favorite things that you might not be able to readily get overseas (books, games, snacks, etc.)
I am sure God is going to use you in a mighty way. Please keep us posted on your progress before and after you leave. We’ll be praying for you guys.
